The Isle of Raasay Distillery opened in 2017 on the inner Hebridean Isle of Raasay which has a history of centuries of illicit distilling and is home to less than 170 people! The island's geology, coastal location and unique water source (60 metre on-site well) are reflected in the quality, provenance and local character of the Raasay spirit. 

The distillery strives to produce, mature, bottle and market every drop of spirit directly from the island, maximising the influence of the island on the spirit, and the spirit on the island. The distillery, visitor centre and accommodation employs over 25 local people and is embedded in the island's community.

Raasay's award-winning, unique six cask recipe at cask strength. The 6 cask recipe created by Alasdair Day, remains unchanged to this day - 2 Isle of Raasay spirits (peated and unpeated) are matured separately in 3 distinct cask types: first fill American Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine casks, and then these 6 are married together.

Nose: smoke, spiced dark fruits and vanilla.

Palate: cherries, cinnamon and ginger with light salty peat smoke and vanilla.

Finish: lingering peat with rich dark fruits.
