The Glasgow Distillery’s production started in 2015 in the south-west of the city. Their first single malt ‘Glasgow 1770 Original’ launched in 2018 and in 2020 the distillery was named Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards.

Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled is part of their Signature Range and combines British malted barley with Scottish water from Loch Katrine.

A minimum of 72 hours of fermentation and a slow distillation are followed by triple distillation to provide a smooth, bright flavour. The third distillation eliminates heavier oily compounds from the spirit resulting in a lighter and smoother whisky. Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled is matured in bourbon and also in a small stock of virgin oak casks - these spirits are then married to create the finished dram.

Nose: The nose opens up to sweet vanilla and white chocolate leading to fresh summer fruits of aromatic apple, pear and peaches.

Palate: The palate is well balanced and smooth with vibrant vanilla, soft caramel and double cream opening up to succulent orchard fruits and berries followed by delicate floral notes alongside a sweet almond nuttiness.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering with notes of rich honey, anise and black pepper and hints of warming woody spice.
