This release is the 3rd Octomore Single Cask for the UK. It is a pale gold dram, with immediate nose of peated and burnt heather which softens to reveal barley flour leading into delicate floral notes of geranium, rose and honeysuckle. A luxurious and viscous mouthfeel introduces vanilla, tablet, fudge, custard, marzipan and toffee- beautifully balanced robust oak and a touch of leather. Further layers of coconut, tropical and stone fruits emerge, complemented by a gentle warmth from cinnamon, aniseed and nutmeg. A long finish where distinctive peat and burnt heather, linger. 

Nose: bold and immediate peat and burnt heather, which softens to reveal barley flour. Then delicate floral notes of geranium, rose, and honeysuckle intertwine with candied peel, vibrant orange, and a medley of fruit.

Taste: a luxurious and viscous mouthfeel introduces vanilla, tablet, fudge, custard, marzipan, and toffee, beautifully balanced by robust oak and a touch of leather. Further layers of coconut, tropical and stone fruits emerge, complemented by a gentle warmth from cinnamon, aniseed,
and nutmeg.

Finish: a long finish, where distinctive peat and burnt heather linger, slowly fading to leave a lasting impression of sweet spice and a whisper of minerality.

BRUICHLADDICH DISTILLERY

Bruichladdich Distillery was built by the Harvey brothers in 1881 on the Rinns of Islay, the western peninsula of the island of Islay. The name Bruichladdich comes from the Gaelic for 'Brae of the Shore' - Bruthach a' Chladaich. The distillery closed many times throughout its history and was re-opened in its current form in 2001.

Since Bruichladdich’s resurrection in 2001, the distillery team have aimed to be an antidote to the industry norm. As 'Progressive Hebridean Distillers', they want to reconnect whisky with the land, re-evaluate where flavour comes from and use the business as a force for good for the community, local agriculture and the planet; ensuring that Islay and its people are at the heart of every decision the distillery make.
