The original Ardgowan Distillery was founded in 1896, the current distillery filled its first cask in June this year following eight years of development, planning and construction. Built on the historic Ardgowan Estate, it is the first new distillery to open in Inverclyde for over a century.
This is part of the Clydebuilt single cask series, specially selected by Laura Davies and matured at Ardgowan Distillery in a Sherry Hogshead which delivers a light, sweet style with notes of fruit and light peat.
Nose: Ripe figs and cinnamon sticks.
Palate: Fruit scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream.
Finish: Subtle notes of fruit cake and more sweet spice.
