The original Ardgowan Distillery was founded in 1896, the current distillery filled its first cask in June this year following eight years of development, planning and construction. Built on the historic Ardgowan Estate, it is the first new distillery to open in Inverclyde for over a century.
This is part of the Clydebuilt series, specially selected by Laura Davies. This exceptional blended malt brings together Highland and Island whiskies matured for 27 years in a single Pedro Ximinéz hogseahd, with a 33 year old. Speyside Malt distilled at Benrinnes Distillery.
Nose: Citrus zest, white pepper and marzipan.
Palate: Dark cherries, toasted marshmallow, sticky raisins and pear drop sweets.
Finish: Long and satisifying, with more hints of marzipan.
