The original Ardgowan Distillery was founded in 1896, the current distillery filled its first cask in June this year following eight years of development, planning and construction. Built on the historic Ardgowan Estate, it is the first new distillery to open in Inverclyde for over a century.
This is part of the Clydebuilt single cask series, specially selected by Laura Davies and matured at Ardgowan Distillery in a Bourbon hogshead which creates sweet flavours of vanilla, spices and toasted oak.
Nose: Ripe peaches, nutmeg and subtle heather.
Palate: Vibrant flavours of lemongrass, green apple and vanilla pods.
Finish: Long, with an orchard fruit character.
