Bottled by the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, the casks that are bottled – often whiskies from lesser-known distilleries that are of excellent quality, but have never been widely or consistently available – hence the name ‘Infrequent Flyers’.
Nose: Earthy and herbal. Toasted macaroons and rum baba, layered over sweet phenols.
Taste: Bowmore always seems to strike the delicate balance between smoky and sweet. Here we have sweet and tangy fruits - cranberries and peaches - combining with cinnamon and cracked black pepper. All of which is underwritten by mellow, soft peat, bog myrtle and exotic smoke. This is unadulterated Bowmore, having spent a quarter of a century in the same refill barrel, so the distillery character is very much to the fore.
