The original Ardgowan Distillery was founded in 1896, the current distillery filled its first cask in June this year following eight years of development, planning and construction. Built on the historic Ardgowan Estate, it is the first new distillery to open in Inverclyde for over a century.
This is part of the Clydebuilt single cask series, specially selected by Laura Davies and matured at Ardgowan Distillery in a Sherry Butt which delivers a rich, sherried style with notes of spiced caramel and popcorn.
Nose: Cinnamon stewed pears.
Palate: Butterscotch sauce and freshly grated nutmeg.
Finish: More sweet spices alongside brown sugar.
