The Borders Distillery's new make spirit started flowing in March 2018. The Borders distillery was founded by four industry veterans who wanted to bring malt whisky production back to the Scottish Borders, where the last recorded distillation ran in 1837.
The Borders Distillery's Inaugural Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first single malt Scotch whisky to leave the Scottish Borders in two centuries. First-fill bourbon barrels are the foundation of this whisky, and of every signature whisky that will follow, bringing notes of caramel, vanilla, honey and a soft sweetness. A final Madeira cask maturation adds tastes of rich sultanas.
