Peallach (’pyal-akh’) is a pseudonym for Ledaig - the heavily peated whisky produced by Tobermory Distillery, Isle of Mull. Established in 1798, Tobermory Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland and is renowned for the windswept landscapes and maritime air of the Scottish Inner Hebrides.
This 10 year old dram was matured in a single refill bourbon barrel for 9 years and then finished for 8 months in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrique, from the Ximénez-Spínola bodega in Jerez, Spain.
This dram's artwork depicts a Boeing Stearman bi-plane approaching the bay of Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull. A similar aircraft resides at the Island’s only airfield, Glenforsa. Tobermory is famous for its row of colourful houses, visible in the artwork, along with the distillery at the left hand side of the bay.
