The Glasgow Distillery’s production started in 2015 in the south-west of the city. Their first single malt ‘Glasgow 1770 Original’ launched in 2018 and in 2020 the distillery was named Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards.

This dram is part of their limited edition 'Small Batch Series' which explores how the Glasgow spirit styles interact with different cask types. The original, peated and triple distilled drams, made from British malted barley with Scottish water from Loch Katrine, are annually finished in a range of interesting casks, showcasing the range of flavour within the Glasgow spirit.

This Costantia-finish release is a five year old bottling and showcases Glasgow's unpeated double distilled single malt whisky. The whisky initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks, and was then finished for one year and ten months in Constantia wine barriques which creates notes of fresh apricot, peach, pink grapefruit, clementine, rich manuka honey, and dark chocolate.

Nose: Fresh apricot, ripe peach, juicy clementine and rich vanilla lead to lightly floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle.

Palate: A juicy explosion of fresh fruit balanced against floral and rich manuka honey. Notes of sweet pink grapefruit and ripe peach meet apricot compote and vanilla ice cream with a sweet almond nuttiness.

Finish: Long and fruity with lasting notes of light honeyed sweetness, a touch of fresh ginger, and hints of 80% cacao dark chocolate.
