The Glasgow Distillery’s production started in 2015 in the south-west of the city. Their first single malt ‘Glasgow 1770 Original’ launched in 2018 and in 2020 the distillery was named Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards.

Glasgow 1770 Peated is part of their Signature Range and combines British peated malted barley with Scottish water from Loch Katrine.

A minimum of 72 hours of fermentation and a slow distillation are followed by double maturation, initially in virgin American white oak and then in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads.

Glasgow 1770 Peated was named ‘Best Lowland Single Malt Whisky' in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Nose: Sweet smoke and rich toffee with notes of vibrant vanilla, dried dark fruits and cracked black peppercorn spice with subtle hints of flamed orange.

Palate: Tobacco leaf, rich dark toffee and cacao nibs on a background of sweet soft peat and gentle earthy undertones with subtle herbaceous notes of sage.

Finish: Long and smooth with notes of salted caramel, liquorice, and lingering spice.
