Finlaggan is the flagship brand of the Vintage Malt Whisky Company and is named after the Islay loch, Loch Finlaggan which is of great importance in Scottish history. The loch contains 3 islands which are the seat of the Clan Donald which ruled the islands and part of the west coast of Scotland until it fell to James IV of Scotland in the 15th century.
The distillery is not disclosed but the quality cannot be disputed, this is peated whisky that Islay enthusiasts will enjoy.
Nose: sweet peat smoke, medicinal notes, touch of sea salt.
Palate: full bodied with spicy peat smoke, tar and iodine. Light oiliness and sweet malt, wonderfully mouth filling.
Finish: smoking embers. long and drying slightly.
