Created by George Urquhart in 1968, the Connoisseur's Choice range provided a platform for lesser known distilleries to showcase their single malts. At this time, most spirit was used in blended whiskies so this range was unique, pioneering and ever-changing. To date there have been more than 2,000 bottlings from almost 100 Scottish distilleries.
Each Connoisseur's Choice label details the whisky’s story: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage and tasting note.
Nose: Bright apple and autumnal spice gives way to brown sugar. Toffee and fruit cake are balanced by smoke.
Palate: White pepper and stewed red fruits leads to charred oak. Summer berries come to the fore alongside cocoa powder and orange zest.
Finish: Full. Spicy and smoky with aniseed and rich toffee.
