Ardgowan’s master whisky maker, Max McFarlane, says:
“A stunning example of the magic that can be created with great wood. We kept a close eye on this whisky, bottling as soon as the ideal level of smoke and salinity had been imparted. The nose is rich, with spiced apple, plums baked in brown sugar, bitter chocolate fondant, and a suggestion of smoke. The palate has smouldering heather, pipe tobacco, ripe cherries, and a hint of salty breeze. A complex finish follows, with more dark chocolate, and dried fruit'
